We have spent a lot of time with Abigail and Christine, this week. Visiting and dinner, of course, on Tuesday. Wednesday, they swept me off with them to Itasca State Park, which is a two-hour trip each way. We visited the headwaters again. Abigail and I walked across the Mississippi and back again to Christine. Stopped in the park also for lunch, where two of us ordered a tarragon wild rice casserole. Abigail seems to like breaded fish fillets. And today, because I had taken no photos of them yesterday, they dropped by, so that Al could take our pictures and I could take a picture of Al with them. After he left, we decided we were not done talking, yet, so we went out to eat at Denny’s (salads and breaded fish fillets) and spent much more time visiting.
I did get my Poetry Rehab poem written. Pleased with it enough to post it.
I am quite tired, again. Some of that may be blamed on potato salad. Our butcher switched potato salad, opting for one with a stronger taste. He offered a spoonful to each of us. Al likes it better than the old stuff. I had a very strong allergic reaction to it. Reminded me of the allergic reaction that I had at Bennigan’s Restaurant — when I ordered their new “steak medallions”. I still itch all over and may have to take another antihistamine.
Next week, the repair work on the house begins and my fried Laura comes to visit in advance of her HS class reunion. I also am looking forward to her visit.
I am at exhaustion.
