I find that I seldom look out the window in the room where I blog, because the window is almost always occupied by one or two dogs, whose breath and noses smear the glass. It’s clean enough to take photos through only just after I’ve cleaned and wiped off the window panes.
The cotoneaster branches, however, make nice frames. I have taken a number of pictures using them as foreground.

In addition to taking photos, I enjoy playing with the colors and textures that come from different effects and light sources. The colors seem to change, the depth and hue, when the sky is overcast or the air is carrying smoke from far-off fires. My favorites are the blue wild flax flowers.
